Nickel's most notable characteristic is its exceptional corrosion resistance in alkaline environments, such as caustic potash and caustic soda, making it a key material in the ionic membrane caustic soda process. It also demonstrates good corrosion resistance in dry fluorine, as well as in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride at temperatures up to 540°C. Additionally, nickel can withstand still hydrofluoric acid solutions. It maintains good mechanical properties over a broad temperature range and is easily cold worked.
Treatment Process
Inconel X-750 is a nickel-chromium-iron-based alloy that is solid-solution strengthened, providing excellent resistance to high-temperature corrosion and oxidation. It offers good machinability for both cold and hot working, as well as welding performance. At temperatures below 700°C, it exhibits satisfactory heat strength and high plasticity. The alloy can be strengthened through cold working and is compatible with resistance welding, brazing, or soldering, making it suitable for components operating under low loads in oxidative environments at temperatures up to 1100°C.
